SignLab Remote Print & Cut Manager£2,200

SignLab Print&Cut
SignLab Print & Cut is the sign industry's only enterprise-level design and production software for sign printing and vinyl cutting. This package is designed for busy, professional-level sign shops that work with both vector and full-color raster images. SignLab Print & Cut supports interactivity with 3rd party design applications, where both the highest quality and efficient throughput are required from a wide array of cutters, ink jet printers, and thermal sign printers. SignLab Print & Cut is especially suited for significant production volumes of cut vinyl signage and digitally printed signage, where either single- or multiple-design stations and output servers are being contemplated. This package is upgradable to SignLab Print & Cut Server as your sign shop production and technology needs grow.

SignLab Print&Cut Server

This package is the same as SignLab Print & Cut, but includes a standalone copy of the Print & Cut Manager, which allows an additional computer to be used as a dedicated print and cut server. An assortment of printers and cutters can be attached to the Print & Cut Manager on either computer, or via the network. This distributes the workload across two computers, and it is a more suitable starting point for multiple-user networks. Each Print & Cut Manager can drive up to three devices simultaneously. The following graphic illustrates a typical configuration.

SignLab Print&Cut Designer

This package can run SignLab on one computer, though it does require you to have purchased either SignLab Print & Cut or the SignLab Print & Cut Server package first.

SignLab Print & Cut Designer has all the design features of SignLab Print & Cut, except that the designer can only save files in SignLab native format. Also, the designer package can only output to printers or cutters through an instance of SignLab Print & Cut or the Print & Cut Manager that is installed on another computer of your network. As such, you can output from your SignLab Print & Cut Designer to any Print & Cut Manager that is on the network (including virtual networks, such as VPN over the Internet).

SignLab Print&Cut Designer Why?

The designer package is targeted at busy, professional-level sign shops that design in both vector and full-color raster images. The strength of designer packages is that multiple networked design stations are able to feed print & cut jobs to separate production stations that are connected to printers and/or cutters. As your sign shop facilities expand, including an additional Print & Cut Designer into a networked shop is an economical way of increasing design output. As such, the SignLab Print & Cut Designer offers the busy sign shop much needed flexibility in managing its design and production environment.

SignLab Print and Cut icon Stand-alone Print & Cut Manager that installs on network computer for processing (ripping) print, cut and "print & cut" jobs from networked versions of SignLab 7 "Print & Cut", "Print & Cut Designer" or receiving PostScript jobs from other design applications or computer platforms (Mac, Unix, etc.).

Is an inexpensive "add on" to any network computer converting it into an efficient production server for processing SignLab files and PostScript files through any cutter or large format printer connected to that computer. SignLab files and PS files sent across the network to these devices are output efficiently and in high quality. Is ideal for shops with a multiple of output devices requiring a multiple of networked servers to process the large number of daily production files, in a time efficient manner. Can output files simultaneously to cutters and printers on different ports.

Typical Installation Configurations

Small/Mid-sized Sign Shop
This example demonstrates the advantage in using SignLab for the small/mid-sized sign shop. This business has two networked PC's, one with a printer and seperate cutter; the other with a hybrid print & cut device. The problem is you want to be able to design on both machines and also use these computers to output to all your printers/cutters. SignLab diagram

The Solution: SignLab. In this example, the shop would install two copies of SignLab Print & Cut and run both the designer and Print & Cut Manager on both machines creating a tidy, effecient, workflow.

Larger 5+ Workstation Sign Shop
This example is directed at the shop with bigger networks. This shop has 5 computers in total, 3 are used strictly as design stations and thereby will not output to any devices. Of the two computers used to output, one is dedicated to printing to a large format printer and separate cutter; the last computer is used for both designing and driving the shop's cutter.

The Solution: SignLab. This shop will install a copy of SignLab Print & Cut Server (which includes the extra Print & Cut Manager), the shop will also install 3 instances of SignLab's Print & Cut Designer (design only product more info here ). NOTE: All printers and cutters can be connected directly to their respective PCs or can be connected via a network.

You can send print and cut jobs either from SignLab, or from other graphics applications directly to a hybrid print & cut device. When doing print and cut jobs where the printer and cutter is separate, you have to output the job from SignLab, but you may use any combination of SignLab supported devices. So you can print to an ACME printer and cutter and cut on a GoonScript cutter.
