Q: What’s the printer?
A: It’s the incredibly successful Mimaki JV3-160S full solvent inkjet. Since its launch at the beginning of the year, the JV3 has become the benchmark for quality, speed, value and ease of use. The printer uses three year + outdoor durable solvent inks, yet is easy to maintain and operate, with a very low running and maintenance cost. Designed from the ground up, it’s a complete solution from Mimaki - not a conversion of an “off the shelf” printer with third party inks. Therefore, it comes with a full 12 month Mimaki backed warranty, that includes the print heads.

Q: And the cutter?
A: The new Mimaki CG-130FX sports a photo-electric eye for automatic registration of pre-printed vinyl graphics. It’s 1.3m wide and Mimaki cutters have a great reputation for consistency and robust build quality - a real production work horse!

Q: Why two machines?
A: The greater versatility from using a separate printer and cutter allows you to run print jobs whilst cutting and vice versa, thus getting maximum production at maximum efficiency. Of course, it’s quite often that you may wish to contour cut at a later date - and that’s when two machines really come into their own.

Q: How fast is the printer?
A: Typical production speeds are in the region of 6 to 10m2 per hour. If you’re producing billboards, the machine will run at up to 19m2 per hour.
